Negotiations where nobody has to remember the numbers

Terms move during a negotiation, and three weeks later two sides remember different versions of the same concession. Whisperer keeps what was actually said, with the moment attached — and translates it live if the other side is not working in your language.

Every number keeps the sentence it came from

The problem

The disagreement is never about the contract

It is about the call before the contract. Somebody said the discount applied from year two; somebody else heard from signature. Both are remembering honestly. Without a record the argument is unresolvable, and the party with more leverage wins it.

A transcript with timestamps turns that into a five-minute check instead of a negotiation about a negotiation.

  1. During Both sides recorded Your microphone and their audio, labelled separately, so who offered what is not reconstructed from memory.
  2. During Read them in your language A translation line under the transcript when the other side is negotiating in theirs. It lands a second or two behind, and that is honest.
  3. After Concessions in a list What was agreed, what was traded for it, and what was explicitly left open — each with the moment it happened.

Practical

Say that you are recording

This page is the one place on this site where we will give a flat recommendation. In a commercial negotiation, tell the other side. Not because software requires it — nothing joins the call and nothing indicates anything — but because a record you did not mention is a liability the first time you try to rely on it, and in several jurisdictions it is a legal problem rather than an awkward one.

Said openly, it usually helps: both sides get more careful about what they promise.

Limits

Two, and one of them is legal

  1. First A transcript is not a contract

It records what was said. Whether that is binding, admissible or even lawfully obtained depends on your jurisdiction and on whether you disclosed it. Whisperer takes no position on that and cannot.

  2. Second One recording at a time, not an archive migration

A finished recording can be uploaded: the Meetings section takes one file up to 25 MB — mp3, m4a, wav, ogg, flac, aac, plus mp4 and webm, from which the audio track is used. What is missing is bulk upload of a whole archive; and it spends the same minutes a live call does.

Questions

What people ask first

Does the other side get notified?

No. Nothing joins the call and no indicator appears. That is precisely why we recommend telling them yourself.

Can I get the exact wording later?

Yes — the full transcript with timestamps stays in your account, and search will take you to the moment rather than to the meeting.

What if the call is in a language I do not speak well?

The translation line runs under the transcript on the paid plans. The original stays visible alongside, which matters when a number is being discussed.

Can I keep a sensitive round out of the archive?

Yes. In no-logs mode nothing is stored after the session ends — no transcript, no map. Minutes are consumed as usual.

Will it tell me what to offer?

It answers from your own material: your floors, your terms, what you conceded to whom before. It has no view of the other side's position and does not pretend to.

Run it on the round before the important one

Then read what came back. If the list of concessions matches what you would have written from memory, you have learned something either way.
